Guest privacy

Privacy notice

kyuHQ is an operator platform for properties, one property or many. Guests scan a QR code to see what is available on-site without signing in, while operators get signals and actions.

What we record

When JavaScript is available, guest pages may send four anonymous events:

  • Property page open — the overview page was opened.
  • Amenity view — an amenity detail page was opened.
  • Action start — a guest tapped that they were heading to an amenity (for example, “Heading there”).
  • Reported use — a guest tapped that they used an amenity (for example, “I used this”).

An event is stored against the property, and against the amenity when that applies. If the link included a placement label such as QR, print or lobby, that short label may be stored too. A random tab identifier is stored with each event. It is used to count a property page open once per tab and to group events from the same tab, and it cannot identify the guest.

What we do not record

We do not store a guest name, room number, booking, device identifier, IP address, browser user-agent, or kyuflow identifier.

Browser storage

Guest pages do not set cookies. They keep that random tab identifier in this tab’s session storage; it is used for up to six hours and then replaced. Session storage also holds a “page open already counted” marker and a staff-preview flag. All of these are cleared when the tab closes, and are not reused across tabs or devices.

If JavaScript or storage is blocked, the pages remain readable and no events are sent.

We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and only counts page views in aggregate. The fictional The Reach demo loads its hero image from Unsplash. Your browser connects to Unsplash to load that image, sharing your IP address and browser user-agent with it. The image request does not include the referring page address.

What hotels see

Hotels see property-level totals. Any count under 5 is hidden. Guests are not identified. Reported uses are self-reported counts.

How long events are kept

Raw events are kept for 90 days. Automatic deletion runs daily: raw events older than 90 days are deleted once their week is saved in a weekly report.

kyuHQ and kyuflow

kyuHQ describes on-property options. It does not deliver exercise. kyuflow is a separate product that delivers exercise and requires sign-in.
